London: Andrea Leadsom, one of two women in the race to become the next British prime minister, has suggested that being a mother makes her a better pick than her rival Theresa May, who has no children. Ms Leadsom, a 53-year-old mother of three, told the Times newspaper that being a mum "means you have a very real stake in the future of our country." Ms May, 59, is the current frontrunner in the race to become the next British prime minister in September after David Cameron resigned following the EU referendum.
